My brother was getting married in a few days and I was looking for a necklace to wear. Mac was keeping me company in his stroller. I walked into Aldo Shoes and a bright eyed girl with a yellow scarf wrapped around a high bun walked over to greet me.
Bright Eyed Girl with Yellow Scarf Bun: Welcome, just so you know everything on the back wall is an additional 50% off the last ticket price.
Me: OK, great thanks.
Mac: Da! Da Da! Die Die Die!
BEGwYSB: Oh, he's so cute. How old is he?
Me: He will be a year in a few days *blinks back a tear*
BEGwYSB: Aw. They grow up so fast don't they? Mine is almost 20 months. What's his name?
Me: Maclean
BEGwYSB: Oh that's a cool name. Very strong.
Me: We mostly call him Mac.
BEGwYSB: *steps back and examines his face*
Me: *why is this girl staring at us so strangely?*
BEGwYSB: Is that... Mac?... Are you?.... Sorry, but do you have a blog?
At that point I blushed (heavily) and confirmed that I did in fact have a little blog called Mondays with Mac. She got disproportionately excited and said a bunch of really overly kind things that I won't repeat because this post is already brag-y enough. I got shy and stammered a little because what I really wanted to do was scream and hug her and yell OhhhEMmmmGGeeee YOU READ MY BLOG???
Instead I did my best to stay calm and act like this sort of thing happens to all the time. I browsed around the store for a minute, too dazed to remember what I came in for in the first place, and then hurried out the door so I could text my wife and tell her that Mac's a celebrity.
